It all started in the 40’s when Mom & Dad were Hot in the Cotton Clubs. The whole family eventually got into the act. When Elvis & The Beatles came along, there was no stopping my Brothers & I. My older Brother taught me about everything I know. Fortunately I had perfect pitch and a basic instinct to Rock & Roll!
I began playing local stages at the ripe old age of 5. Drums first, then Organ. By the time I was 8 years old, that summer our Family act “The Jet Set” toured Vietnam for 4 months, entertaining the US Troops. It was a life changing experience. I turned 9 there. We are talking some serious road gigs!
After that we are on a roll. We were maturing as a band and as boys to men. We changed our name to “Saratoga” and played a lot of big gigs, Vegas, TV, Recording, the works!
At some point I decided to delve in my own life and took a break from playing in my teens and went through a bit of a sabbatical to learn Music Theory, Electronic Music and Guitar.
In time I was a regular session player for Sing Sing Recording Studios, in Los Angeles, for two of the legendary songwriters of the early Motown days, Kay Smith and her Sister, Helen.
In those days I worked with a myriad of amazing players. That’s where I first met my writing partner. Later, we branched out our own and made a couple of records that topped the CMJ (College Music Journal) and it was during that time I was introduced to Al Jardine of The Beach Boys and never looked back. I have been working with Al, and “The Endless Summer Band” ever since.
At this time in my life I am finally focused on the song. I have had so many great influences. Some of which I have played with and others I have admired and listened to all my life. I hope to be as successful a songwriter as I have as a player / performer my whole life.
I leave you with simply a list of those great performers and incredible people I have had the opportunity to share the stage with and then finally the music……
Ciao Peace Out
